It's common to hear that art is "better in person," and with Carrie Penley's body of work, this couldn't be more true. There's a narrative within her work that contains so much detail that photographs just can't capture it. Carrie collages tidbits of newspaper clippings, quotes, images, music sheets and more into the background of many of her pieces. These collages seem to tell the story of the animal that is masterfully painted on top of the collage.
